About Benjamin Britten
Benjamin Britten was the leading British composer of the twentieth century and a master of opera and the orchestra. His Young Person's Guide to the Orchestra became a beloved introduction to classical music for generations, and operas like Peter Grimes restored English opera to the world stage. His War Requiem stands among the great pacifist statements in music.
