About Dobet Gnahoré
Dobet Gnahoré grew up in the Ki Yi M'Bock artists' village in Abidjan, where her father Boni Gnahoré taught percussion, and she trained as a dancer and singer before recording. She sings in Bété, Baoulé, Malinké, Fon and French, moving between West African traditions rather than settling in one. A Grammy followed in 2010 for her duet with India.Arie on Pearls. Her 2024 album Zouzou continues a run of records made with the American label Cumbancha.
