About Ralph Vaughan Williams
Ralph Vaughan Williams was the great pastoral voice of English music, a composer who drew deeply on folk song and Tudor music to create a sound unmistakably his own. The serene violin meditation The Lark Ascending is regularly voted Britain's favorite piece of classical music. His symphonies and choral works anchor the English Romantic tradition.
